Topographic chic
A map of Piduń, a small village in the North East of Poland, at the edge of the last glaciation.
I tried to partially emulate the style of topographic maps, while also integrating information from other sources. Unfortunately, I couldn't find bathymetry for the northmost lake - please do not use this map for diving.
Pachatusan
This is one of the mountains surrounding Cuzco, with a summit at 4840 m above sea level. A path leads over the ridge from Cuzco valley to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas. Landsat image draped over a Digital Elevation Model using QGIS. Press R for automatic rotation, scroll for zoom, click and move.
Low forest day trips
2 day trips in the vicinity of Pilcopata, at the edge of Amazonia. The mountains shown are one of the last ranges before the lowlands stretching all the way to the Atlantic begin. Landsat image draped over a Digital Elevation Model using QGIS. Press R for automatic rotation, scroll for zoom, click and move.
Interactive charts
This is just an example of an interactive chart - the controls are on the right. Created using bokeh. Do not worry too much about what the data represents. Just enjoy the bubbles.
Wayquecha and Tres Cruces
3d model of the region around Wayquecha and Tres Cruces in Peru. Red lines are automatically created transects for studying the Andean tree line. Landsat image draped over a Digital Elevation Model using QGIS. Press R for automatic rotation, scroll for zoom, click and move.
Eternal roads
Road networks do not change much over time. Here, Grochowska street in south eastern Warsaw maintains its course since the early 1800's. The old map in this comparison is a depiction of the battle of Wawer, 1831.
Concentric Mega-Warsaws
A tongue in cheek map I put together showing my hometown, absurdly oversized. The map concept is visibly silly, however there at the time of my making this map there was a new proposal being discussed that would significantly alter Warsaw’s boundaries and governance. I used publicly available data (demographic data from GUS - the Polish Census Bureau, and spatial data from CODGiK).
Aland Islands by kayak
One of my first larger map projects documenting two kayak expeditions in the Aland Islands, one of which I took part in. If I were to make this map again now I would probably make some changes, but I'm putting it here for completness sake.
Chairs
A minimalistic birthday card design with two of Asia's favorite things - retro chairs and mint green.
Arugula
Overnight timelapse of freshly planted arugula, with some slightly gratuitous effects sprinkled on top. Made in DaVinci Resolve, dubstep track downloaded from bensound.com.
